The biblical perspective on divorce

The biblical perspective on divorce By: James Linders This article addresses Christian couples; specifically Christian believers. However, non-believers are welcome to read the article for educating purposes, should they wish to do so. Among these numbers we MOST often find believers as well who opted for divorce, rather honoring their nuptial vows which was made before God. The question we as Christian believers should ask ourselves BEFORE we take such a DRASTIC measure, is whether hardships, unhappiness, misunderstanding, turmoil and trials; all growing pains, are sufficient reason to justify divorce as a solution, ESPECIALLY if there are children involved. Let’s turn to the to the word of God, after all, when all else fail for us as believers, we should seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit who will lead us in ALL truth (1 Corinthians 2:13 “... we also speak, not in words taug...

Bloodline of a successful marriage

Bloodline of a successful marriage By James Linders Marriage in ANY culture has ONE cardinal aspect in common: a life-long commitment between two partners. Nevertheless, the success or failure of the marriage is heavily influenced by culture and tradition. This article explicitly addresses the Christian marriage. The husband should fulfill his marital (nuptial) duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband. The wife's body doe...

Since the establishment of the Christian church, some leaders have grown fat and even became millionaires and businessmen as a Direct result of this technicality. Those members who are struggling to pay their full tithes are motivated with these words from Proverbs 3:9-10: “Honor the Lord with your possessions, and with the first fruits of all your increase; So, your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine”. The members who can’t give their tithes every month, is confronted and sidelined with the text from Malachi 3:8-9: “Will a man rob God? Yet you are robbing Me! But you ask, ‘How do we rob You?’ In tithes and offerings. You are cursed with a curse, yet you—the whole nation—are still robbing Me.… “ In the Old ...
